Getting a grasp on adventure - why some of us do ?

Updated: Aug 29, 2023

Running away to unknown might seem a dream way for many of us to live like ... at least for a moment :) Are Your decisions based on senses and intuition or rather logical analysis and indifference towards any subjective thoughts ?

There can be many reasons why You never do Your first step ahead to adventurous life - definitely one of them is fear of the unknown and unexpected ... How would You then change the things You do not like around now if You never checked what is there ?

If You never try You will never verify ...

“Some adventures take us far from home. Some adventures lead us to our destiny."C.S. Lewis

Aren't we though too afraid of getting more adventurous life ? Have You ever dreamt about living in a foreign country or even changing Your living places ? Why You do not ?.

BE A BIT LESS THE PERSON YOU BELIEVE YOU KNOW. MAKE SOME SPACE FOR YOURSELF AS YOU COULD IMAGINE YOU COULD BE(BY EWA FOLEY, LIFE INTERNATIONAL COACH)

Fear comes from the brain. When people encounter something that frightens them, the hypothalamus in the brain reacts by releasing a series of chemicals to the sympathetic nervous system and the adrenal-cortical system. The fear hormones circulate through the bloodstream to all cells of your body. The effect of adrenaline (also called epinephrine) is similar to the effect of the sympathetic nerve action. Adrenaline increases heart rate, increases breathing rate, dilates blood vessels to the lungs and muscles.

The main function of fear and anxiety is to act as a signal of danger, threat, or motivational conflict, and to trigger appropriate adaptive responses. We are born with only two innate fears: the fear of falling and the fear of loud sounds. The other types of fears are learnt throughout our social adaptation to lives and sometimes transferred by family prejudice or suggestions from friends ...

So 98 % of Your fears do not come from within You

“You must go on adventures to find out where You truly belong”. Sue Fitzmaurice .”

Reading more about the scientific backgrounds of fear You realise that You were actually given or influenced by other reasons for Your own fear triggers. Then the proverb above seems totally right and true - meaning that only when You fight Your own fears then You can truly find out what is the ones that are related to Your personality and private needs and which are not. That is actually most important to feel good in Your own skin- or shoes :)

Try to be in my shoes ?

Shoes cannot be same for everyone and even if You ask anyone to try Your on then their sensations would be totally different as their feet are not same- not even size or their sensitivity to roughness, cold or pain. Then remember to put Your shoes only.

Did You know that Your attitude to adventures does influence Your communication skills ?
